Behind the Lens... 

Creating work is never just about the finished product to Ally Walsh. There is a process that is littered with emotion, connection, meaning, and mistakes that back it. In her work, it is not about having a refined and clean piece, it is about highlighting the artist behind the creation. Whether it is capturing a raw moment in a photo or ripping up high school journals, there is no boundary to the pieces she creates.  Being authentic and honest is what pushes her creations into the space she wants them to exist in.

While studying at Syracuse University for her BFA in art photo, she learned to leave the comfort of her photo medium and stretch what she makes to take on different forms. She touches on zines, film, collages, and photos to find the right number of mistakes in every “finished” product.

She now is a working social media manager, alongside a creative consultant and photographer, exploring how consumers interact with the vast amount of content on the internet.
